Mind-body specialist for chronic pain and other persistent symptoms

​​The path of recovery from chronic symptoms can feel isolating and confusing at times.  I am passionate about helping you through your journey of recovery from chronic pain or other chronic symptoms. 

​

Having spent a decade struggling with chronic pain, I understand how scary and demoralising it can feel to be told no one can help any further.


Despite what we may have been told, recovering from chronic pain is not about another injection, a different  exercise regime or another diet.  Modern neuroscience demonstrates that if our brain and nervous system remains in a state of threat, symptoms can continue as a learnt protective response.  

 

Mind-body coaching gets to the root of what is keeping your system stuck in persistent symptom production. It's about creating consistent internal practices to slowly shift the nervous system to a place of safety where your nervous system no longer needs to stay in high protection mode.


 I now live a full and active life without pain, however I wouldn't have been able to get here without the practices I help guide clients through today.  Recovery can be simple, but it's not always easy.  You deserve to live a full, rich and meaningful life and I serve to guide you along that path.

There is a reason you aren't better...​

 

Persistent pain or pain that started out of the blue is fundamentally different to acute injury.  So it cannot usually be treated successfully in the same way.  Even if the pain goes away temporarily, so often another symptom crops up. β€‹

​

Thankfully, the last twenty years of neuroscientific research demonstrate that persistent symptoms are often primarily driven by over-protective, heightened chemical signalling within the brain and central nervous system.  

​

A neuroscience informed, mind-body approach goes one step beyond symptom management.  I provide 1:1 guidance and tailored coaching aimed at targeting the root of what is driving the symptoms and providing clear, simple steps to move the needle forward.  Through coaching you will feel empowered   to trust your own wisdom and that of your body.

Implement elements of pain reprocessing therapy to cultivate new healthy neural networks in response to the natural fear and frustration that comes with symptoms.

This is all about making your primitive brain feel safe, reducing the need for pain as protection.

Understand your 'protector' parts and re-calibrate old beliefs that may be keeping your nervous system stuck on high alert.
